Ever go through a leveling up of your energy frequency and were left feeling porous to other’s energies? During one of these episodes, I remember FEELING the electric energy leave my dog as he shook his coat to release.
As a trauma informed specialist, I have learned that humans can actually do this too in the form of shivering and trembling. It’s a stress response built into our bodies as a way to “shake it out” and recover.
We accumulate all kinds of unwanted energy all day long. We absorb other’s emotions, feel the energy from the news, from an argument with a loved one, etc etc
How mindful are you about finding ways to RELEASE this unwanted energy?
Beyond trembling, there are a number of ways to release this energy. Here are a few suggestions.
Intense Exercise. The sensitive among us can FEEL the distressing energy leave the body.
Holding a plank pose may feel unbearable as your thoughts begin to release and let go.
Sit ups may amplify a nauseous tummy, extreme cardio may make you feel into your heart chakra and extreme heart ache/stress as it leaves.
NOT KNOWING THIS FACT MAKES MANY QUIT EXERCISE.
Yep. It can feel bad when the energy leaves, but it is necessary.
Yin Yoga Yin is a gentle stretching type of yoga. Put simply, the yoga instructor explains a stretching pose and the student holds it for the duration of a song.
When poses are held for an extended period of time, the release goes deep into the myofacia, or connective tissues. Within the myofacia lies memories and un-neccessary energy begging to be released.
I have many memories of holding poses and watching a movie of memories in my head as the imprint of these experiences was leaving my body. Not always pleasant, but SO HELPFUL.
