What Is the Mindful Meditation Class? Is it Hard?

Never meditated before or tried and couldn't last even a minute? You are not alone. We offer varied types of meditation classes for all levels of meditation experience.

Our 
Mindful Meditation class will work with you as you train your mind and body to tolerate the practice of meditation. This class is designed to build up your focus, attention span and body's ability to be still and calm with our three part easy to follow template class. Whether you need to decrease your anxiety and worries or need to learn to harness that monkey mind, a Mindful Meditative approach is a great place to start.

What Will the 30 Minute "Mindful Meditation" Class Actually Look Like?

​Part One focuses on your breath. Proper breathing can calm the nervous system. For 2 minutes we will utilize the imagination during the breath portion to make it more interesting and easier to stay focused. 

Part Two will be a practice of mentally scanning the body to look for tension. Your instructor will guide you through simple non-invasive exercises that will help release the tension or anxious feelings you find while you learn to introduce calm into these spaces. 

Part Three will teach you to listen to the thoughts in your head that make you more reactive to stress and stressful situations, Your teacher will guide you through mental exercise to teach you to listen to the mind chatter and then learn techniques to quiet the stressful thoughts down to a calm and helpful comforting voice. 

Allow our teachers to guide you through the process of calming the body and quieting the mind chatter as you repeat the cycle of steps 1-2 more times. 

We keep the steps short and repeat them during an intro class. Shorter cycles, guidance and repetition help our students gain skill and confidence quickly. Whenever you feel ready, you can jump into another meditation class with a different theme that interests you. 

Bonus: If you choose to purchase a Quarterly Meditation Box, you will be taught how to use many of the items from that box during some of these classes as well as others. Each teacher has their own style of teaching. Check out a variety of teachers to see which dabble in the other tools and which might do a class with just verbal cues.
