Anger is a secondary emotion. Join us as we learn ways to explore the roots and building blocks of our play therapy client’s anger. Begin to identify the ins and out of the nervous system as well as parts of the brain to target during play sessions.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
✅ Describe regulation, attachment, the brain, and the importance of each for working with anger
✅ Identify models of play therapy for engaging parents/caregivers to promote co-regulation
✅ Describe 4 strategies for promoting safety, co-regulation, and self-regulation amidst intense angry and aggressive behaviors in the playroom
✅ Compare the use of child-centered/non-directive strategies vs cognitive-behavioral/ecosystemic strategies for anger
✅ Identify 2 potential underlying factors of anger/aggression and identify strategies to organize primary issues/emotion
🎨 Participants will be required to create various art related projects during the 3 hour session. In order to receive CE credit, participants will be asked to break off into ZOOM groups to share their projects. COME PREPARED WITH PAPER, MARKERS, CRAYONS AND ANY ADDITIONAL TOOLS YOU MAY WISH TO USE DURING THE TRAINING. FULL PARTICIPATION IS REQUIRED.

She has a specialty in stress management, anxiety and trauma with her private practice clients and utilizes brain based Mindful Meditation when appropriate.
