Anger is a secondary emotion. Join us as we learn ways to explore the roots and building blocks of our play therapy client’s anger. Begin to identify the ins and out of the nervous system as well as parts of the brain to target during play sessions.
In this 3 hour training, participants will
✅ Identify how attachment theory effects the relationship in the playroom
✅ Identify Play Therapy Parenting Models to help assist parents at home
✅ Describe ways to de-escalate a child/situation to minimize angry outbursts in the playroom
✅Describe the importance of mirror neurons' impact on the child & therapist's calm
✅ Describe anger as a secondary emotion and identify strategies to organize primary issues/emotion
✅ Identify low brain vs high brain experiences in the playroom and when/how to approach a child
✅ Describe when to stay Child Centered and when to introduce Cognitive Behavioral strategies
✅ Describe how Poly Vagal Theory impacts the child and therapist's ability to stay balanced
✅ Describe at least 2 medically or biologically driven factors for anger in a play therapy client
🎨 Participants will be required to create various art related projects during the 3 hour session. In order to receive CE credit, participants will be asked to break off into ZOOM groups to share their projects. COME PREPARED WITH PAPER, MARKERS, CRAYONS AND ANY ADDITIONAL TOOLS YOU MAY WISH TO USE DURING THE TRAINING. FULL PARTICIPATION IS REQUIRED.

Gabrielle Anderson, the teacher for this training is an LMFT, RPT-S and virtual Meditation Teacher. She has a specialty in stress management, anxiety and trauma with her private practice clients and utilizes brain based Mindful Meditation when appropriate.
