What to Do When Stress ESCALATES a Situation (this session will be recorded)
Sometimes stress creates tension and dysregulation. Clients healing from trauma, panic and anxiety often need help keeping their bodies calm and their relationships healthy. Session #1 will explore these systems through the lens of the nervous system, the science of safety and theory of attachment.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this 1 CE (NBCC credit) course series, participants will be able to explain:
✅ The SCIENCE OF SAFETY and what this means in relationships both clinical and personal
✅ The impact of ATTACHMENT on relationships and stress management
✅ How ADRENALINE & CORTISOL impact communication and how to manage it’s effects

What to Do When Stress Initiates Collapse (this session will be recorded)
Sometimes the effects of chronic stress can mimic depression, leaving clients feeling unmotivated and stuck Clients healing from trauma, panic and anxiety often need help keeping healthy amounts of activation in their bodies. Session #2 will explore nervous system shut down or collapse (Poly Vagal Theory) through the lens of the nervous system, the science of safety and theory of attachment.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this 1 CE (NBCC credit) course series, participants will be able to explain:
✅ How DORSAL VAGAL SHUTDOWN can mimic depression
✅ Safe ways to communicate with a client in collapse
✅ Safe ways to communicate with a client in freeze
Session 3: (Monday, July 22, 12:30-1:30 EST) $45 (or bundle all for $125)
Tangible Tips and Tools to Help Keep the Nervous System Balanced (this session will be recorded)
Herbs, essential oils, breath work, mindfulness and other tools have found their way into research studies and are proving to be effective ways for clients to manage their own nervous systems. Join us in exploring some of these methods and walk away with tools to share in upcoming appointments.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this 1 CE (NBCC credit) course series, participants will be able to explain:
✅ HERBS & SUPPLEMENTS that can provide calm balance for the nervous system
✅ CHRONIC ILLNESSES that mimic DSM diagnoses
✅ Activities and exercises to help BALANCE THE NERVOUS SYSTEM
This workshop series is available live on MONDAYS: JULY 8, 15 and 22nd from 12:30-1:30pm EST. Participants can attend live or view the recording at a later date for CE credit. Trainings build upon one another. It is recommended that participants purchase all three in order to gain all of the information presented.

Gabrielle Anderson, LMFT, RPT-S™, the teacher for this training is a previous board member for the Virginia Play Therapy Association. She is a therapist for children, teens and adults and the founding owner of the Family Therapy Center of Northern Virginia, llc and founding owner of The WIllow's Crown Meditation Studio and Training Facility, llc.
Gabrielle's focus is often near-bio in nature with an expressive focus. With teens and adults, she utilizes tools such as sand tray, bi-lateral stimulation, brain spotting, art, mindfulness exercises and more. She is also trained in child centered play therapy and other play therapy modalities.
Gabrielle has a specialty in stress management, anxiety and trauma with her private practice clients and utilizes brain based Mindful Meditation when appropriate. She also teaches virtual meditation to therapists, community members and other adults outside of the counseling practice.
