🎯 Poly Vagal Theory is the foundation for treating anxiety, panic, OCD, trauma even family therapy in the playroom.
Being able to explain how the nervous system works is paramount to ANY mental health work, specifically Play Therapy. Participate in FUN activities throughout.
Be able to explain how attachment, stress hormones, co-regulation, shut down and SO much more impact Play Therapy Clients on a day to day basis and why this is also important to YOU.
🎨 This training will include self care activities to help nurture the person within the therapist.
In this 4 hour virtual training, participants will
✅ Explore attachment and it's connection with regulation
✅ Explore the Sympathetic Nervous System and how it relates to play therapy
✅ Explore the Para Sympathetic Nervous System and how it relates to play therapy
✅ Practice activités to tone the Vagus Nerve
✅ Participate in activities to creatively map out the nervous system continuum
✅ Participate in activities to nurture the play therapist
🎨 Participants will be required to create various projects during the 4 hour session. In order to receive CE credit, participants will be asked to break off into ZOOM groups to share their projects. COME PREPARED WITH PAPER, MARKERS, CRAYONS AND ANY ADDITIONAL TOOLS YOU MAY WISH TO USE DURING THE TRAINING. FULL PARTICIPATION IS REQUIRED.

About Your Teacher, Gabrielle Anderson, LMFT, RPT-S™
Gabrielle Anderson, LMFT, RPT-S™, the teacher for this training is a previous board member for the Virginia Play Therapy Association. She is a therapist for children, teens and adults and enjoys weaving play therapy and other expressive modalities into sessions when appropriate. She is the owner of the Family Therapy Center of Northern Virginia, llc and owner of The WIllow's Crown Meditation Studio and Training Facility, llc.
